local

Louisville has always been my home & as I've grown so has this beautiful city.
Growing up I often enjoyed the things Louisville had to offer, the community
mainly, I love that no matter where you go everything still feels like home.
In 2010 I began working for Edible Louisville Magazine & was inspired
by our city's developing local food scene.
Please & Thank You comes to mind whenever I'm craving a spanish latte
& a cinnamon roll the size of my head.
I know I can go there & feel at peace. It's not just the awesome sweets, incredible
Argo Sons Coffee, or variety of records that take me by surprise, but it's the warmth.
Hospitality is an understatement for this quaint shop on 800 East Market,
I am always amazed by the sweetness, not only in their chocolate chip cookies, but in their staff
These people are amazing! WOW. They make me feel like I'm apart of their family,
not just a customer buying their product--but someone who is appreciated & known.
So thank you and please keep it up. My weekly visits never feel enough, I always crave more.

nulu fest

The other week I went to the Nulu Festival with Mel & Morg.
It reminded me of how thankful I am for sweet friends,
good & easy conversation, & for a city
that is always surprising me with fun & simple events.

Flea Markets are the best.
I spent my Saturday afternoon with three of the most beautiful girls I know.

lately.

Ben started his phd at the University of Kentucky.
He is catching lots of bass these days.
We explored Chicago.
I went to the fair, ate tons of fried goodness, & saw interesting things (yes that girl is laying on her pig).
We went to the park with Grayson & Aydie.
The pups don't like it when we sleep in on Sundays--they're hungry.
Ben built me shelves out of old wood floors.
Mel got married to Alex
Happy September Friends!

G&M

This past May, on a beautiful evening at Locust Grove,
I had the opportunity to break into wedding videography at the wedding of my friends Grant & Madeline Corley.
Many thanks to my sweet friend Lang, I loved watching him work as he did a beautiful job taking their photos.
Congratulations, Corleys, on a beautiful wedding that I feel blessed to have documented.

urban beekeeping.

I got my bees!!!
First I got the topbar hive from Walter T. Kelly.
We had a package & put them in last Monday, it went flawlessly.
On Saturday, Sam went with me to pick up my two nucs from the farmer Mark.
We put the bees in their new home & now they seem so happy.
We even tasted a little honey--delicious.
I wanted to take a picture of the inside of the topbar hive because it was so unique.
I took my gloves off & stuck my hand inside the hive--yep, I got stung (but only once & with good reason).
I'm having so much fun.
I'm loving the bees.
