In Dublin's Fair City

Today I remember...
When we went backpacking through Europe! Our first stop was the fair city of Dublin. The trip got off to a rocky start when we missed our flight from Chicago to Ireland but after Ben offered everything from kissing the flight attendant to sitting in the bathroom for the six hour flight, we somehow finagled our way onto a different flight that left only an hour after our original flight planned to leave.
Once we got there it was bliss...We stayed in the hostel--Paddy's Palace where we were offered free breakfast & unique roommates from all over. We traveled to the beautiful campus of Trinity college to see the Book of Kells the first Bible translated by Irish monks in the year 800. After that we stumbled upon Christ Church Cathedral. Our favorite cathedral was of course St. Patrick's, unfortunately it cost money to tour so we enjoyed the outside & the first few steps of the inside. After that we walked to St. Kevin's church that was built in year 800, we took fun pictures and enjoyed the green landscape. We got a cup of hot coffee as we laughed at the locals and planned for the rest of our trip. As we wandered around we came across a coat of arms store--the owner told me about my family line and our noble heritage. The book told him that the Magee's were Archbishops of Dublin, one Magee was the Earl of Cork, and that John Magee(that's my dad's name!) was one of the most famous writers in all of Dublin. We ate a lot of yummy Irish food & of course got a Guinness at the Temple Bar. Everything was perfect.

Ben sang me a little song!
